Preferred Behavioral Health Group announces new Chief Medical Officer

Preferred Behavioral Health Group (PBHG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Eric Alcera as Chief Medical Officer as part of a shared resources agreement with Hackensack Meridian Health.  Dr. Alcera will continue to serve as Chair of Psychiatry at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank and Medical Director of Behavioral Health Care Transformation Services for the health care network.

PBHG is central New Jersey’s leading behavioral healthcare organization serving over 30,000 individuals annually across 70 programs that focus on mental health and addiction prevention, intervention and treatment.

“We are pleased to enter into this partnership with PBHG by sharing Dr. Alcera’s expert clinical and managerial skills,” said Ramon Solhkhah, M.D., chair, Department of Psychiatry, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, who oversees the residency and fellowship programs at Ocean Medical Center in Brick and at Jersey Shore. “Resident physicians in psychiatry at Ocean Medical Center will rotate at PBHG, gaining quality education and valuable clinical experience.”   

Dr. Eric Alcera will serve as a key member of the PBHG’s highly motivated and innovative leadership team as they work to define the overall business strategy and direction of the organization.
