Behavioral Health Programs For Teens & Young Adults

The teen and adolescent years bring with them huge emotional and biological changes. These changes can often cause turmoil in a young person’s life. Our teen and young adult services are designed to help youth deal with those changes and successfully move on to the next stage in their life. Discover which of our NJ behavioral health centers is best for your needs.

Outpatient Therapy for Children and Teens

The Preferred Center for Children and Families provides a safe, inclusive space for children, teens, and their families. Skilled therapists provide compassionate, trauma-informed counseling and treatment.

SAIL Program

The SAIL Program is a structured partial care program with youth who have serious emotional/behavioral issues that helps them reach their full potential for learning, growth, and emotional stability. The program is for 13-17 year olds.

School Based Youth Services

The adolescent years are crucial in shaping a young person's future. This program focuses on giving teens the the support they need to stay on track and achieve their goals. Our comprehensive and multifaceted programs build on their strengths and promote healthy youth development, emotional intelligence, and social connections.

NJ4S - Student Support Services

COMPASS is a local program serving Ocean and Monmouth Counties under the umbrella of New Jersey Statewide Student Support Services (NJ4S). NJ4S is a new statewide initiative from the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF), and was designed to enhance access for students to prevention and mental health screening services. Programs will focus on the core service categories of mental health, suicide prevention, bullying and violence prevention, substance use prevention, and sexual health and teen pregnancy prevention. The program supports public and charter school students and caregivers in Ocean and Monmouth Counties at no cost.

Children’s Mobile Response and Stabilization

When your child is in crisis, you need help now. This program provides help within one hour of your call to diffuse a crisis and ensure everyone's safety. Once the immediate crisis is resolved, follow up services are provided.

Wraparound Services

The program serves individuals with metal health issues from birth to age 21. Services are authorized by Children’s Mobile Response Services and Ocean Partnership for Children (Ocean County’s Care Management Organization).

Prevention
First

This program provides families and children with the tools they need to successfully deal with the stressors of everyday life and those that surpass typical challenges such as substance use, intimidation, and bullying.

Teen Intervene

Substance use has become an crisis in our communities. This poses a significant risk to teens as experimenting with substances in the childhood years often leads to long-term use. The Teen Intervene program is open to teens 12 to 19 years old at risk or suspected of mild substance use.

Project Independence

The transition to independent living can be difficult for teens and adolescents. Project Independence teaches the skills necessary for a successful transition. It is open to individuals ages 14-21 who have an out-of-home placement with DCP&P or independent living arrangement and live in Ocean County.

LifeSet

The transition from foster care to adulthood can be overwhelming. LifeSet is a youth driven program designed to help young adults ages 17-21 to become self-sufficient and live independently. LifeSet provides the individualized support and guidance needed for skill building, problem solving, and successful future planning.

Family Unification Program

That first step into independent living is a big one. The Family Unification Program provides access to safe housing, teaches life skills, and provides support to help ensure a successful transition from foster care to living independently.

Connect To Home

Living on your own for the first time can be challenging. The Connect to Home program focuses on securing housing for young adults, ages 18 to 20, and teaching them the skills necessary to live on their own as successful adults. Those with out-of-home placement or an independent living arrangement in Ocean or Monmouth County through the NJ DCP&P may qualify for this program.
